The Noematica project is in a certain sense a revolt against unitary platforms: a rejection of the dictatorial authority corporate shareholders hold over the community that works so hard to develop the lifesim ecosystem. We are trying to build an alternative model, and approach the multitude of talented DIY content creators, hackers and modders &c. as collaborative partners building on top of our fully extensive framework.
In the long run, we intend to make other Noematica games: more digital worlds with their own qualities. Any core engine change will be backported to previous Noeamatica efforts (insofar as this is technically possible) to help modders with their work. Assets will be made interoperable, for custom games with mixed themes.
This means that -- rather critically -- Asphodel designers and community modders will engage the core system on equal footing. The initial Urban Dollhouse is just as much a 'mod' as anything else. Anything we pull off, you can too.
